It is indeed the most popular and most visited park in Baguio City! Mines View Park is a spectacular sight to behold and something that one should not missed when visiting the city of Pines. Located at a ridge extreme northeast side of the city, Mines View Park is usually the next stop taken by most visitors after seeing the Mansion or Wright Park, boasts a spectacular view of Benguet’s mines and the Cordillera mountains.
At the entrance of the park are stalls selling handicrafts, vegetables, plants, handicrafts and a variety of other items. Tourists get a chance to shop and enjoy the products, from strawberry and oranges to silver jewelries that Baguio and its nearby towns are offering. We even get a chance to taste the strawberry taho!
As you go down the slippery stairway you will be welcomed by the amazing and famous observation deck. The deck offers a breathtaking and picturesque view of the Benguet’s gold and copper mine and the mountains surrounding it. It was definitely an amazing view that should not be missed when visiting Baguio. Visitors can also rent binoculars for only Php10.
The park is also offering visitors a chance to get dressed in full Cordillera costume – bahag, shield and spear for the men, tapis for the ladies, vests and headdresses for women. For only Php 10 one can unlimitedly take pictures of themselves around the deck. One can also take a picture of the famous St. Bernard dogs for Php50 and pink horses Php10.
Mines View Park is a jeepney ride away at Php7 and about Php55 if you will be taking a cab from Burnham Park.
